To build long lasting ‘positive’ peace, we need to invest in working with individuals and communities to support mechanisms of violence prevention and constructive conflict transformation. Crucially, we need to commit to educating young people as they take up their various roles and responsibilities in societies that have been torn apart by conflict, building tolerance, understanding and ultimately moving towards reconciliation with each other.
